The SMORGASBURG UPSTATE Marketplace Hosts the Finest Chefs, Craft Brewers and Creatives on the Beautiful Hudson River in Kingston, NY

Smorgasburg launched in May 2011 in Brooklyn as a spin-off of Brooklyn Flea, the popular flea market founded by Jonathan Butler and Eric Demby in 2008. Mario Batali described it as "The single greatest thing I’ve ever seen gastronomically in New York City," while the New York Times called it “The Woodstock of Eating.”

And now, the Hudson Valley has its very own Smorgasburg Upstate—open every Saturday, 11am - 6pm, through October 29, 2016. It occupies the old Hutton Brickyards in Kingston on ten acres on the beautiful Hudson River.

This weekly market features some of the area's most exciting chefs, food purveyors and craft brewers alongside a curated selection of handmade design, vintage clothing and antiques. Plan on spending the day as there is so much to enjoy including wonderful activities for the kids as well as family-friendly music venues.

International street artist Gaia, curator of the murals for the 2015 O+ Festival in Kingston, NY, wowed all with this spectacular floral mural “Pronkstilleven” (Dutch for 'ostentatious', 'ornate' or 'sumptuous' still life) painted on the Stuyvesant building on Fair Street in the historic section of Kingston, NY. Festival organizers chronicled the process of the painting of the mural with this impressive time-lapse video shown above.

Gaia’s studio work, installations and gallery projects have been exhibited throughout the world, including The Baltimore Museum of Art, Rice Gallery and Palazzo Collicola Arti Visive. His street work has been documented and featured in several books on urban art, including “Beyond the Street: The 100 Leading Figures in Urban Art” (Berlin, 2010). Gaia in 2014 was named to Forbes 30 Under 30 list in Art and Style.
